This colourful yarn is formed from blending Tussar wild silk with recycled sari’s to form an elegant and very soft yarn. This yarn benefits from making good use of recycled sari’s. Tussar silk comes from the cocoons of the silkworm belonging to the moth genus Antheraea and is known as “Wild Silk” as the silkworms live in the wild forests belonging to the Terminalia species. Tussar silk is valued for its rich texture and deep gold coloration and is perfect for fibre arts, weaving, knitting and crochet projects bringing individuality and elegance to any fibre project. This yarn brings out the best of making use of recycled materials and silk!
