Soap nut powder comes from the dried soap nut of the species Sapindus, and is naturally rich in Saponin which is released when mixed with water.   Soapnuts are naturally cleansing without the harshness of chemical soaps and detergents which contain SLS, and are perfectly natural and environmentally friendly. 
 
The soap nut powder can be mixed with water in order to wash/scour natural yarns and fabrics prior to natural dyeing.  It can also be used as an ingredient in natural soaps, cosmetics and shampoos, or can be simply mixed with water and used on its own.
