Boosting your bath bombs with natural colour

Here at Wonky Weaver we offer a wide range of natural dyes derived from nature, produced to a high quality, and totally environmentally friendly. These bombs are coloured naturally with Sappanwood, and Green Indigo Leaf powder and scented with essential oils (lavender has been combined with the Sappanwood, and Tea Tree and Pine oil with the indigo leaf powder. It is a fun way to combine natural plant colours with a luxurious bath bomb enriched with Epsom salts and olive oil.

Our suggested recipe (to make x 3 large bath bombs) is as follows (this can be tweaked to suit your preference):

  • 400g Bicarbonate of Soda (also know as sodium bicarbonate)

  • 200g Epsom salts (optional but adds a nice boost to your bomb)

  • 200g Citric Acid

  • 100g Cornflour

  • 2 tbsps of clear olive oil but you can use other oils of choice such as coconut

  • 1 teaspoon of natural dye powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon of essential oil

Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.

Add oil, plant dye powder and essential oils of choice

Mix again

Using a spray bottle, spray on water and keep mixing until you achieve a clumpy powder (do not use too much water or the bombs will expand/crack in the mould).

Fill both halves of your mould and push together firmly. Sit the bomb upright on a cup/glass or holder, and leave to dry for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.

Loosen the moulds and ease the bomb out.
